As part of the celebrations for the Bicentenary of Chinese immigration in Brazil, the Municipality of Shanghai and FAAP present the exhibition “Portraits of Shanghai - The Charm of Shanghai in Brazil”.

With the central theme of the Shanghai City, the exhibition includes more than 40 paintings by Chinese and foreign artists, who present works of art that seek to get the historical inheritance and also the current scenario. The group belongs to three generations of talents of Chinese artists living in China and abroad, with ages between 30 and 90 years.

The works of art

The lifestyle of Shanghai is transferred to Brazilian land on works of art like “Yuyuan Comercial Center”, “Xintiandi” and “Lantern Festival”, which shows one of the Chinese cultural events already well known to Brazilians. The exhibition also features the sights of the city represented by each artist’s style in paintings like “the Morning in Bund”, “View of the Huangpu River” and “View of the World Expo”, a portrait of the space where it was held the third biggest event in the world based in Shanghai in 2010, event that São Paulo is willing to host in 2020. FAAP participated in the World Expo, and was the only educational institution with a personal program.
