Françoise Schein was born in Brussels, Belgium. She graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from the La Cambre School of Visual Arts and Architecture, in Brussels, and has a Masters in Urban Design and Architecture from Columbia University in New York. She is also an art professor at the ESAM – Caen/Cherbourg (Normandy).
She is the founder of the Association INSCRIRE (Inscribe) that generates participative projects with thousands of people, from the most diverse universes. In the communities of Rio de Janeiro, in the suburbs of European capitals, and in schools from various parts of the world, she creates perennial and important works that mark and transform the urban landscape. Françoise has developed a teaching method specific for increasing the awareness of young people to the importance of human rights and making it possible to work in collaboration with a diversified public.
