20th CENTURY EXHIBITION – MAB COLLECTION
A tour through the history of Brazilian art with works from MAB’s collection that were produced in different periods of the 20th century is what the exhibition 20th century – MAB Collection proposes. The exhibition gathers 110 works including sculptures, paintings and engravings made by various artists – from Modernism to younger artists, including the last two decades production.
Modernism is represented by artists who participated in the 1922 Modern Art Week, such as Anita Malfatti, Victor Brecheret, and Oswaldo Goeldi; also, other artists who later joined the movement, as Cícero Dias and Cândido Portinari.
This exhibition also presents the resumption of picture in the 1930's and figurative experiences of the 1940's, also covering the geometric and informal abstraction of the 1950's with works by Aldo Bonadei, Almir Mavignier, Rubens Gerchman, Luiz Paulo Bravelli, among others.
The new artists generation is also represented with works, for instance, by Sandra Cinto, Luiz Hermano, Gilberto Vançan, among others.
The admission is free and the exhibition is on from April 7 to May 24 in MAB-FAAP's cultural hall. We provide educational assistance for schools and group visits. Please schedule at (11) 3662-7200. Organized by José Luis Hernández Alfonso.
