Acoustics, lighting and energy.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: In light of the energy crisis, new ideas for thermal conditioning for living and industrial spaces for winter and summer have emerged. Man has been obsessed by technology and has not taken notice of the natural resources at his disposal for his thermal comfort. The objective of this course is to discuss and explain the environmental physical phenomena that provide the following: appropriate protection from the sun in summer; insulation from changes in temperatures using materials with great thermal inertia properties; ventilation, using air from favorable microclimates; making use of insulation in winter; the rational insulation of external surfaces to protect living spaces against undesirable heat exchanges.
The goal is to take advantage of favorable natural conditions, which improve thermal comfort and increase the use of simple construction techniques.
