Study at FAAP in English!

FAAP is offering a new program destined for those who do not have the appropriate level of Portuguese in order to attend regular courses.

Most of the courses are related to Brazil and give the candidates the opportunity of exploring the country in its various aspects.

Alongside these courses, candidates can attend the Extensive or Semi-Intensive Portuguese Course that will give them the opportunity of learning the language and getting to know more about the Brazilian Culture, History, Geography and Literature.
 

Courses available:

  • International Business Law (45 hours)
    General course description:
    INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS LAW
    The oriented study of international business law and corporate transactions in global environment is mostly desired for the comprehension of the classic foundations of international commercial law and its recent development, and the education of international lawyers for a conscious global business advocacy. In this sense, the present course covers a comprehensive range of units related to the legal regulation of international business law, transnational corporate law, private international law, movement of multinational companies, international commercial contracts, and further issues on comparative law and its relevance to international commercial law. The classes will also cover topics on harmonization and uniformization of international commercial law, its instruments and institutions and practical issues concerning the international commercial contracts.
  • Brazil Interdisciplinary Perspectives (45 hours)
    General course description
    A survey of relevant issues and aspects of Brazil and Brazilian communities:
    Brazil in numbers- An overview; the economy and urbanization; development issues and institutions; construction of cultural and ethnic identities; racism; Brazilian culture, art and music; Brazilian Educational System; Brazilian communities: Religions in Brazil, social change; social structure and social class; public sector and crime, social control; public and international security; Private sector and Industrial evolution (quality and productivity); Environment and sustainable development.
  • Brazilian Culture (45 hours)
    Formation of the Brazilian Culture; The Portuguese Language from Brazil; Brazilian Regions; Brazilian Folklore, Music and Arts.
  • Doing Business in Brazil (45 hours)
    Legal aspects of doing business in Brazil, tax law, intellectual property law, corporate laws, legal entities, tax planning, labor regulations, Central Bank regulations on foreign investment.

Periods:       February- June
                      August-December

Enrolment process:
If you apply through an Academic Exchange Program between your institution and FAAP (Exchange Student), you must send your documents through your Study Abroad Office to the International Office - FAAP:

If you apply by your own (Independent Student), you must send your documents to the International Office - FAAP.
 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
1. Application Form, available in FAAP's website:

2. Résumé;
3. The most recent school transcript;
4. Two photographs size 3 x 4;
5. A copy of the passport;
6. A copy of health insurance valid in Brazilian territory during the semester of the exchange program (upon arrival in São Paulo);
7. List of FAAP's subjects that you wish to take during the semester*.
*Remember that it is not FAAP's responsibility to assure the recognition and good use of the subjects attended during the program. This is an exclusive decision of your institution. In this context, we suggest you to obtain orientation from the Academic Advisor of your institution. 

INSTRUCTIONS

  • The International Office will send the letter of acceptance and the “kit FAAP” to your Exchange Program Coordinator. If you are an independent student, you will receive it at home;
  •  It is the student's responsibility to apply and obtain the student visa;
  • The International Officer will help you to find a suitable accommodation in São Paulo. For more information, please contact rel.internacional3@faap.br;
